A Study on Core Skew Considering Manufacturability of Double-Layer Spoke-Type PMSM

The spoke-type permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), which is a general ferrite magnetic flux-concentrated motor, has low portion of reluctance torque at the total magnitude. Therefore, as way to increase torque, there double-layer PMSM that can maximize difference in inductance between d-axis and q-axis. However, PMSM, cogging ripple, harmonic distortion (THD) with main cause vibration noise. In this paper, method proposed provides same effect skew without dividing stages by core rotor into two types so it easy manufacture according number stages, unlike extant methods. Based on method, reduction THD was verified finite element analysis (FEA).
